Arcology Ruins? / Southern Arena Colles / Mars

Arcologies are massive (self sufficient) habitations that can house substantial populations – a town or city contained in a single building. Orbital imagery of Mars has identified the ruins of possible arcologies 35 miles to the North of where NASA's Perseverance Rover is exploring Jezero Crater. So far these have only been imaged by the lower resolution CTX context camera of the Mars Reconnaissance Observer spacecraft. The image analysis below examines the two candidate arcologies that are closest to Jezero Crater. They are larger than most of the candidate arcologies identified in Cydonia, with a different internal structure. Richard C.Hoagland's internet radio show has been regularly covering Perseverance Rover's mission to Jezero Crater.
