The Face Series: Part 5 / "Ruin-like Structure - Face Platform"

The flat topped platform on the western side of the Face shows evidence of ruin-like structure. The surface seems to have crumbled downwards into building sized hollows. Some areas of the platform give an impression of geometry to this process. As the examples of locations 1 and 3 show, these ruin-like hollows become more choked with wind blown sand as the view moves northwards up the platform. Location number 2 shows that a similar, but smoother and less jagged, grid of walled enclosures can be found in the mouth area of the Face. For more information click this "stargate" µµµ
