The "Cliff" : Part Two

C

There are indications that the "Cliff" is an artificial structure. One of the pieces of evidence that Cydonia advocates have used to support the hypothesis that the "Cliff" is an artificial structure has been the evidence in the Viking images that the creation of the "Cliff" post-dated the nearby impact crater. We have now seen that the new image does not support this idea. However, there are features in the "Cliff" that suggest that it is artificial (as we will see below). The ejecta field from the nearby Yuti-style crater also looks very fresh (like a lot of the Martian surface revealed by MGS). If the "Cliff" is indeed artificial, then the fact that it pre-dates the nearby crater is the first good evidence that I've seen that the hypothetical Cydonia civilisation was ended by a catastrophe. Constructed artefacts will not survive for geological time scales so our hypothetically artificial "Cliff" is probably only between tens of thousands and a few hundred thousand years old.

The right hand side of this page is devoted to a full scale contrast enhanced picture of the "Cliff" as it appears in the new MGS image. (Of course some of the finer detail will have been lost in compressing it into a JPEG file suitable for the internet). At this scale I noticed quite a few artificial looking elements in the "Cliff". I've enlarged and further enhanced samples of these features, which are shown below. As always with Cydonia Quest enlargements the pictures are best viewed a fair distance away from your monitor screen for best effect. I also find that clicking the "view" then "full screen" options on the web browser helps in viewing the larger pictures. The reader can also use the brightness and contrast controls on their own monitor to accentuate specific features within the pictures.

As it roared over the "Cliff" the "tidal" wave from the nearby Yuti-style crater still had enough force to rip the off the top of the wall that is the "Cliff". As the enlargement below shows this has revealed an internal structure of parallel walls and walled enclosures that look distinctly like the smashed remains of something that has been built. It is imperative that the "Cliff" is re-imaged at a higher resolution by the MGS so that these apparent structural details can be seen more clearly. Such re-imaging would also ensure that the southern part of the "Cliff", that was lost to us in the "transmission failure", can be captured. (This text continues below the picture).

The "tidal" wave also revealed other apparently artificial structures. As it plunged back down the other side of the "Cliff" eddies scoured away the ground to expose "ribs" of the sort that have been discovered at the base of some other anomalous formations in Cydonia. It has been suggested by TEM that these "ribs" are artificial support structures for the Cydonia "monuments" and "arcologies". The two enlargements below give a sample of what the "Cliff's" ribs look like. As can be seen they are reflective, three dimensional features with a possible cylindrical cross section. They jut out of the base of the "Cliff" before plunging back into the ground. An indication that the "Cliff" may be artificial is that the "ribs" are running at right angles to the direction of the wall. If we were to view the "Cliff" as a natural formation then it is unusual for one geological strata (the wall) to be cross weaving the strata below it (the ribs). Cydonia Quest goes sci-fi. The "Cliff" bows out slightly away from the direction of the nearby impact crater. I suspect that this is due to the ground wave from the impact rippling out and deforming the ground on which the "Cliff" rests. It is not unreasonable to assume that the "Cliff" was once perfectly straight. So if it was found to be artificial, what was its purpose? Was it nothing more than a geometrical marker and possible wall like arcology? Taking a leap of (over fevered) imagination it seems to me that the "Cliff" would be the perfect mount for some kind of adjustable aerial or dish array. Now once we raise the possibility of these electro-magnetic devices we also open up the possibility of hyper-dimensional technologies. The reader may be interested to know that one theory for creating artificial "worm holes" (hyper-dimensional short cuts through space) is an adjustable electro-magnetic mechanism involving highly charged metal arrays. Now as it's 2001, could we be looking at the ruins of a real life "Stargate".......Whoa there boy! Enough of this speculative stuff.

There are some other surprises in the new MGS image of the "Cliff". To go on to Part Three of this article click on the "stargate" below.
